Officer-Involved Shooting Protocol

Officer-involved shooting that result in injury or death shall be investigated by a multi-agency team. The multi-agency team shall include at least one other police or sheriff’s agency or the District Attorney or the Colorado Bureau of Investigation. The Sheriff or the authorized designee shall ensure this protocol is posted on the Washington County Sheriff’s Office website and is available to the public upon request (CRS 16-2.5-301).

Sexual Harassment

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office has zero tolerance toward all forms of sexual abuse and sexual harassment (28 CFR 115.11). The Office will not tolerate retaliation against any person who reports sexual abuse or sexual harassment or who cooperates with a sexual abuse or sexual harassment investigation.The Washington County Sheriff’s Office will take immediate action to protect detainees who are reasonably believed to be subject to a substantial risk of imminent sexual abuse (28 CFR 115.162). The Washington County Justice Center follows the guidelines set bout by the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA). Washington County is committed to zero-tolerance of any form of sexual abuse and the sexual harassment in the facility it operates or with which it holds contracts. If you would like to report a case of sexual harassment or sexual abuse of a loved one who is housed within the Washington County Justice Center, call Washington County Sheriff’s Office at 970-345-2244. ALL REPORTS WILL BE INVESTIGATED!!
